Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The substance had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.
A senior political figure said the incident left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
